Hon. Kabir Hashim, Member of Parliament and Chair, Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation, Hon. Mayantha Dissanayake, Member of Parliament and Hon. Mylvaganam Thilakarajah Member of Parliament attended the Regional Parliamentarians Forum of the Eurasian Region: “Monitoring and Evaluation for Greater Effectiveness of Parliaments”held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic on June 6-7, 2019. Ms. Geethani Vidanapathirana, Principal Parliamentary Officer who is facilitating the Parliament Select Committee on Evaluation also attended the event.UNDP Sri Lanka supported participation ofHon. Mayantha Dissanayake, Hon. Mylvaganam Thilakarajah and Ms. Geethani Vidanapathirana.

The Forum was organized by Kyrgyz parliament with the support of the National Monitoring and Evaluation Network in the Kyrgyz Republic, Eurasian Alliance of National Evaluation Associations, and financial support from UNICEF, UNICEF and other partners. Around 90 Participants: parliamentarians and government officials, representatives of evaluation societies from the Eurasian region, as well as representatives of international organizations, international and local experts, NGOs and research organizations participated in the Forum to discuss  effective approaches to creation of national monitoring and evaluation systems, role of Parliaments and  ways of  collaboration between Parliament, Government, and civil society in building  national evaluation systems and implementing SDGs.
